Frontera price... 2.2 DTI

Hi all, as above really, fella has a fronty on a 'T' plate, 100000 miles ish. It's been laid up for a couple of years because it was pressuring the expansion bottle and chucking the water out, said it ran fine when he took to garage and they told him the head gasket had gone. He hasn't fixed it because he had an accident and can't bend over a motor anymore. He is asking £500 for it, no mot on it, has leather and a new turbo apparently, is it worth that and take a chance or look around for something else? I figured if it was cheap enough i can spend more money on it then :-)

Found out it's probably nearer 3.5 years it's been laid up.....

A lot of spares or repairs are going for that kind of money ? , but it's a case of it sounds like the head gasket with the expansion bottle but what else could be wrong with it ? Father sitting that long as we all know rust eats like crazy on the B's :cry:

, that's why mine will be getting sold soon, a few niggles but back to the one your looking at !, it costs nothing to look at it as long as your not travelling miles, and then if it was not to bad you have lost nothing as I'm sure you could sell it or some of the bits then scrap the rest so not loseing your money.but it again depends if you have somewhere to stand it ?, sorry if I have waffled on but that's my opinion

No worries for waffling lol, i don't have anywhere to break it if i needed to, was thinking i not even sure would be able to test drive it as it is near Croydon so that would put me off a bit. Would also have to put in to the garage for repair. May just look about a bit and see what i can find....

Yep if it was a trek to see it and you can't drive it that would put me off and with garage prices what they are I could not see it being a cheap fix

That's what i was thinking, never know what else will be found so could end up a nightmare, think that has confirmed what i was thinking!

I have a good head for a dti if you did want to take a chance on it.

Well, think i'm going to leave that one, can see it getting expensive, put up a wanted ad so see if anything comes up...

Would the pump be a problem after being laid up for so long?
