cruise control

Looking for a bit of info. Thinking of fitting a cruise control stalk on my 2.2dti.the one I can get is of a 2001 and mine is a 2000 would it work OK and would it need to be connected to a computer and programmed to work? Thanks if you can help.

Hi, yes it will work, best thing to do is fit them and test it.

Some don't need programming, if it does then you may be able to do this with an op-com ( which you can buy from eBay for about £20 ) or any dealer level tool will work but will probably cost more.

Just been told that I need a button aswell as the stalk would that be the same?

Thanks fetched the stalks today. Abit dark to do now so maybe tomorrow after work. Fingers crossed.

Fitted the stalks and it all works . No symbol on the dash though and don't think each button/switch does what I think it should do but don't have any user guide to it so I may be wrong. Chuffed it don't need tech 2 ing though and I can live with out of sync buttons.

The only button that will do anything is the one on the end of the indicator side, the other side is for the multi function display.

Also dont think the wiring is there for the dash light, however not investigated as its never bothered me.

On the left stalk whats the twist control do got R/O on it?

Thanks thought press end button to turn on and twist forward to increase twist back to decrease but didn't do that. Now you have explained it seems to be doing as you say. Thanks again .
