Looks like I'm gonna be a frontera owner again!

Hello all! This time last year I bought an mot fail 2.2 petrol sport for £250. I used this forum to get her back on the road but couldn't live with the shocking mpg. I loved the truck but decided to sell up. I started using my vitara off roader until I saved up enough cash to buy a bigger more suitable truck. A 2.2 dti Olympus model has came up locally and I'm going to view it in the early hours of the morning. Is there anything I need to watch out for? I'm fine with the running gear and body work but not very sure on diesels as this will be my first. It's a lot more expensive than my last frontera but it looks to be in great nick with an mot!
Any help would be great.

See if it's ever had a diesel pump change as they are expensive especially on the later YDTH engines you won't get much change out of a grand. But it's generally pot luck on when they can go.

Thanks stretch, I will be looking at the receipts. I was getting an average of 18 mpg with my petrol 2.2. The engine was shot and I ragged the hell out of that thing. I knew it was at the end of its life so I was pretty tough on it. That's the reason I want another. I hauled all sorts, towed all sorts. It was a great truck. I prefer the fronteras to the green oval equivalents.

We'll the frontera was a wreck. It was burning oil, the owner never even checked it and there was no oil on the dipstick! The steering had scary play in the column and the interior was holed and scratched to buggery. If anyone else is looking at the black Olympus model in Carlisle on ebay, I'd strongly advise that you don't waste your time. I have advised the owner of the problems but I very much doubt he will tell the potential buyers! I'm going to have to stick to my trusty off roader for the time being.
