Re: Thievery Is AfootWTF when did that happen and where mate? Swindon or Calne area wouldnt have surprised me, but otherwise I always though Wiltshire was pretty good. Pikies must be out stocking up ready for Christmas.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... 'O-no' the truck. Comments on 'O-no' the truck may be left here Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: Thievery Is AfootGlad I don't have any on either of my trucks.

Re: Thievery Is AfootHappened at my lock up which is near Marlborough. I didn't even notice it hd gone at first, I originally thought I had a blow in the exhaust, until I investigated. Oh how wrong I was...

Re: Thievery Is Afootouch, a family member had his shogun done cost him 1K. Maybe put barbed wire or razor blades round the next one, then again you'll probably get sued by the next thief.
Re: Thievery Is AfootIt's a problem that seems to be getting worse sadly.
The CAT's are worth a few quid when weighed in at the scrappy and sadly it's far less of a challenge to your averidge scum bag to just chop the cat out than nicking cable off the local railway or the such like. When you get it replaced mate, speak to your local neighborhood policing team as a lot of Police Forces have a scheme to mark and tag the Catalytic Converters on 4x4's, Van's and trucks now and it's all free so well worth asking and that goes for the rest of you guys, 15 minutes at the local cop shop might save you a few quid in the long run
Re: Thievery Is AfootCheers Mark, I may look into it.
Going through a lot of thoughts a the moment with my new truck project. Debating to sell ![]()
Re: Thievery Is AfootThe scum bags. Is that a 2.8 exhaust? If so it they won't get much if anything. Just a shame they still doing it as it costs us more to replace them than than they get. Pisses me right off
Re: Thievery Is AfootIf it is the 2.8 then just weld a bit of pipe in it's place.

Re: Thievery Is AfootIf thats a 2.0i exhaust they will have a surprise...them cats make next to nothing, deffo not worth the effort of cutting it off.

Re: Thievery Is AfootIt was from the 2.8. I've been told just bang a pipe in it's place and now it's been mentioned on here I'm more inclined too.
Still annoying. ![]()
Re: Thievery Is AfootHappens all over Wiltshire and Gloucestershire sadly. My friend had his cut off of his L200 on his driveway in Cirencester and our local plod said it is very common.
Re: Thievery Is AfootIts not even a cat they nicked if its off a 2.8, its just a particulate filter....TBH they run better without them mate!

Re: Thievery Is Afootallot of DPF still use precious metal as catalyst to burn off the carbon (soot)
Re: Thievery Is AfootDoubt the 2.8 does
Thats far too modern and technical for those tractor engines. As an aside my 2.8 Trooper doesn't have a DPF, just a rear silencer (hahahahahahahahahahaha) Always passes emissions tests with ease. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
Re: Thievery Is AfootThe only precious metal on a 2.8 is the lead wheel weights!!! LOL
