Happened at my lock up which is near Marlborough. I didn't even notice it hd gone at first, I originally thought I had a blow in the exhaust,until I investigated. Oh how wrong I was...

ouch, a family member had his shogun done cost him 1K. Maybe put barbed wire or razor blades round the next one, then again you'll probably get sued by the next thief.

It's a problem that seems to be getting worse sadly.

The CAT's are worth a few quid when weighed in at the scrappy and sadly it's far less of a challenge to your averidge scum bag to just chop the cat out than nicking cable off the local railway or the such like.

When you get it replaced mate, speak to your local neighborhood policing team as a lot of Police Forces have a scheme to mark and tag the Catalytic Converters on 4x4's, Van's and trucks now and it's all free so well worth asking and that goes for the rest of you guys, 15 minutes at the local cop shop might save you a few quid in the long run :thumbup:

The scum bags. Is that a 2.8 exhaust? If so it they won't get much if anything. Just a shame they still doing it as it costs us more to replace them than than they get. Pisses me right off

If it is the 2.8 then just weld a bit of pipe in it's place.

If thats a 2.0i exhaust they will have a surprise...them cats make next to nothing, deffo not worth the effort of cutting it off.

It was from the 2.8. I've been told just bang a pipe in it's place and now it's been mentioned on here I'm more inclined too.

Happens all over Wiltshire and Gloucestershire sadly. My friend had his cut off of his L200 on his driveway in Cirencester and our local plod said it is very common.

Its not even a cat they nicked if its off a 2.8, its just a particulate filter....TBH they run better without them mate!

allot of DPF still use precious metal as catalyst to burn off the carbon (soot)

Doubt the 2.8 does

Thats far too modern and technical for those tractor engines.

As an aside my 2.8 Trooper doesn't have a DPF, just a rear silencer (hahahahahahahahahahaha) Always passes emissions tests with ease.

The only precious metal on a 2.8 is the lead wheel weights!!! LOL

plus the copper out of the wiper motor and heater. gotta be worth at least a burger van tea

How would you go about inserting section of pipe as arent they different diameters where its been cut? My box is blowing and thought about getting rid but ive got about 50mm one end and 55mm aprox other.
