Any ideas. Where the best place to buy 2mm sheet metal from had a look around on the net but i thought. I'd. Ask just in case i might have. Missed somewhere.

what size and how much are you looking for?
there is a few places ive looked at my self. but depends on how much your after

8x4 sheet should be enough its for the sills and inner sills

Best place to buy steel is the scrap yard....many manufacturing places simply weigh in their offcuts, and its worth asking if you can buy some...

You will pay a little over scrap, but can get a selection of materials for a fraction of their new cost, and best of all its cut up for you...8x4 sheets are a pain in the ass to handle and store...

Just wandering is 2mm the correct size also whats the best way of cutting. The metal

2mm is thick really
i only use 2mm cos i have alot of it. i aquired from a job i did..
i would be more likly to buy and use 1.2mm, will be easer to work with

Thin stuff will go with tin snips, thicker a grinder with a slitting disc i guess...
I use a guillatine, metal shears or plasma cutter most of the time....or oxy-propane if its proper thick!

I got mine from metals4u but it was a generous order (including 15 meters of cds roll cage tube and 6 meters of stainless hydraulic pipe) no probs with the service and would use again
