That time of the year again!Yep, MOT time for the old girl in a couple of weeks. The EML has been on more or less constantly this last while and the performance is rubbish when thats lit up, the other Fronty we had a couple of years ago had EML issues but we never traced the problem (then it got written off

Re: That time of the year again! The symtoms sound like the crank sensor again, there have been a few of late including my beastie. That is the first thing i changed and you could go do that too. If you have trouble starting then look at your leek off pipe's.
Comments on Betsy here please!!! viewtopic.php?f=115&t=56282

Re: That time of the year again!Good luck buddy ! We're in scotland are you ?
Re: That time of the year again! Thanks Bobby, checked those pipes loads of times lol but can never find any probs with them, and yes its incredibly hard to start, maybe just replace them and see what happens. Got it booked in for MoT, then I'll get the local garage guy to put his code reader on and see if there are any codes coming up but I'll mention the crank sensor too.
Dan, we're up near Aberdeen, yourself?
Re: That time of the year again!A visual inspection of the leak off pipes isn't enough as they maybe perished at the ends which or can't see or under the outer braiding. I had the starting problem with mine and although they looked ok i replaced them and the symptoms went. For the sake of a tenner get some good quality pipe without the outer braiding and replace it (don't forget to prime after) then at least that job is done.
Re: That time of the year again!Yep you're right Stretch, will get it sorted. Just trying to order a crank sensor from www.vauxhallworldparts.com and they quote £10 delivery to Scotland
Can't find anywhere else that has the Bosch ones, any clues guys?
Re: That time of the year again!Has anyone got a Bosch part number for the crank sensor?
Re: That time of the year again! The fault codes that registered with me when the EML was on (2.2 TDI, 2001) were:-
P1613 => wrong or no immobilizer signal P0400 = > Critical system injection pump malfunction 2 I mind another guy got his EML light out by replacing the crank sensor (it was a trial & error method of elimination) good luck Pete
