, I've been advised to ask if anyone has got a trade card for Halfords? I'm not sure how it works, some sort of discount thing. But if you're in the South Essex area, and have got one, can you let us know please? Thanks.

Re: Just WonderingMaybe somebody can advise how to go about applying for said tradecard, i.e. can you make up a fictious car mobile mechanic trading name etc or something similar. Or can you go to your local store and just apply without having to tell porkies. I can't advise because I had a nephew that work in our local store and he just put mine through for me.
Re: Just WonderingIt 'used' to be that you either had to work in the trade ie take info in on letter headed paper OR take in a stack of reciepts not sure what current criteria is though.
Re: Just WonderingI had take to take proof of trading, and motor trade insurance to get mine...

Bricks are the knowledge you are taught, the cement is the experience you gain that holds them together.
Re: Just WonderingGood on tools, used to be good on oil, bulbs etc (still okay, but not as good as it was a few years ago) good on wipers etc.
But totally fails on what seems to be Halfords main lines these days... That being useless bling, dangly smelly things, push bikes and hi quality Also seems to have a nasty habit of wiping out any public offer already inplace on the item and puts it back to the original pre-offer price! Worth having? Yes, no doubt about that but it's not the 'Golden Card' it used to be. This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: Just WonderingThe trade card only works on stuff for the trade. So camping stuff and bikes don't get any discount because a mechanic doesn't need a tent or balance bike in his workshop lol. Also yes the trade card works off the 'actual' retail price not off any offer price. But apparently the trade card does have its own offers. If you have a qualification that you can convince them you'd need to be in the motor trade (welding qualification or Aircon technician for example) then you'll give you a card. Or people have been given one by producing a company card and id but this is more down to the discretion of the management team.
