in a 02 seat tdi 1.9 , iv noticed oil in the intercooler pipes plus a oil leak ! the oil in the pipes is this bad news for the turbo ????

Re: Sorry non frontera question...seat 1.9tdi 130There used to be as prob with them engines with a coolant sandwich plate located at the front of those block where the oil filter housing mounts. Would be a good a good place to start. I know from past experience that they are pretty fragile and if it goes can push oil into the strangest of places

Re: Sorry non frontera question...seat 1.9tdi 130You should have the asz engines which is a very strong engine. Its normal for oil in the intercooler.
Oil breathers from the engine go into the airbox that then gets taken through the intercooler and into the engine. If you clean the intercooler and pipes out and it still smokes then it will probably be the seals in the turbo. If its the turbo be careful as you could end up with a runaway If its not broke, your not driving it hard enough
