Generator advice

Needing a gen but iv no clue on these things ! I'm wanting to run 1 of the cheap aldi/ Lidl stick welder a and a angle grinder from it ( not needing to run at the same time ) maybe a compressor once in a while ...
Any advice chaps ! Iv not much of a budget ( as always ) £150 is the most I want to spend ....

the aldi ones are only around 750w which probably won't power your welder. I've learnt you get what you pay for with generators and the aldi type ones i've had haven't lasted me very long.

for a welder you will be needing a 2500w genny at least
and the same goes for grinder.

you would be better trying to find a genny welding set (generator and welder in 1) they normally go to over 200A and can easily power grinder etc

Dunno how big your grinder is Fudge. They don't draw anything like 2500w :shock:

A good decent Angle Grinder can be had with a power usage less than 750W which even thse cheapo Aldi gen sets can handle ... In fact did exactly that when making tank straps for what is now the tank on RobFogs truck when fitted in a field.

I do agree with you about running welders though. A welder/gennt set is the best way though you are talking big bucks for that setup.

I'm looking at this 1 chaps !! The welder will not be running for long period ( minutes at time ) grinder will be the majority of the work
