First off road day didn't go well

Postby BIGMIKE1 on Sun Mar 23, 2014 9:25 pm

The old beast has only been on the road since the 1st of March and today was our first pay and play day, only place nearish today that was open was Frickley so we had a run over, only Frontera there and all was going well till 15minutes in and we lost 4wd (see my other post in axles if you can offer any help please) anyway we managed to get out again only getting stuck once more and even pulling a Discovery out that was well stuck even ripped his front bumper off in the process! I'm glad I fitted the mud tyres, lifted suspension and made a beefed up sump guard as that site is seriously punishing me and my mate were both shocked how hard core it was and even more shocked we managed to get back out in 1 piece as the car was taking a serious pounding plus only having 2wd. Got us home and we still had a good day anyway plus it was the furthest its been since being put back on the road so was a good test even if it didn't end as we'd hoped.

Hi mike the fronty's a capable truck but it comes down to looking at what your going to take it trough, from experience and a couple of drowned fronty's there is plenty of advice on playing in them. I have killed a few playing off road so it's a big learning curve to know what to do and where to go.its a good learning curve to find out what your truck can do and what you will get stuck in as digging your self out is the biggest learning curve I have had  .
