Hello.

I was just wondering if there is a Haynes workshop manual for the (newer) 1999 Vauxhall Frontera 2.2 DTI? I am a member of a couple of Frontera owners club's and we have all been looking for one and we cannot find one,so I thought I would email you to find out if there is one or not. I know there is one for the older style Vauxhall Frontera. If there is not a Haynes manual for the above,is there any plans to do one? I have attached a photo of my Vauxhall Frontera,to show the style that I am talking about.

There isn’t a manual for this at present and no plans at the moment to produce one, however that may change in the future.

Hello Bruce.

Thankyou for your reply. It would be good if one was done in the near future. If it is a matter of not being able to do one on this model Frontera due to not having access to one,then I maybe willing to allow mine to be used,as long as it was put back together the way it was just before strip down.

Thanks for the kind offer of your car. However Haynes work on several different models of a vehicle to produce a manual and the process can take 6 to 9 months. They have to weigh up many factors as to whether they produce a manual for a vehicle and unfortunately there is not a sufficiently strong enough business case to cover this vehicle at present.

Maybe if alot people were to email them,then maybe they will do a workshop manual.

I see what you are saying but fact remains the Fontera hasn't been produced for a number of years now I very much doubt that there is a need for one from their point of view.

Plus there are plenty of suitable alternatives available..

Sorry Dave, but I'm with Geeks on this one.

The Frontera has been out of production for what, a decade now? Publishing isn't a cheap business at the best of times, and something like a workshop manual where you also have to have more than one car (for preference, new, so that pictures look good and you've a good chance of being able to undo everything) and pretty much take them to pieces will not come cheap.
The number of Fronteras on the road dwindles on a daily basis, so if they couldn't justify the costs in making a manual when the things were in production I doubt they ever will.

They would stuggle to find a new one to take apart now anyway...cant see the folk at haynes having to get brutal to dismantle stuff like we have to on 10yr+ motors...
Guarantee the B Haynes manual, if written now, would be the only one ever written that didnt involve the word "simply" and the only one that instructs the "mechanic" to have a tetanus shot in their "health and safety" section at the front!

Between EPC and FOG i've never felt the need for a haynes. Theres a workshop manual you can download.

Is this the one that only covers the petrol models?

its the izuzu work shop manual had sections for all the different models as far as i remeber 64mb and its a few thousand pages

On removing the bolts be aware you will lose blood and skin this should only be carried out by someone who has no money to pay someone else to hurt themselves.

The tools for this wont matter as the nut will either shear or round plus it will rain before you even start so just sell the vehicle and say " it never bothered me "

electric we dont know what wire it is either so we cut the blue one`s

This type of repair can ony be carried out on a monday on the way to work in the rain when you have clean clothes attempt to repair at any other time will not work as it will be working fine especally the night before .
