My brother emailed me a link to youtube showing an attempt to pull a Lada Niva out of some deep mud. It didn't go too well. I think it might be in Russia.

My brother has moved with his Israeli wife and two small boys to Israel, and is thinking about buying a Niva. He recently got lent a Landrover and caught the 4x4 bug and now completely gets what I have been talking about for the last few years. He previously rather frowned on 4x4's as they use more fuel. My argument is that mine is principally a work vehicle, and a second family car when needed. The Niva he has seen has been abandoned by its owner as it needs some work doing to it. He plans to have it as a project and as a second car /fun vehicle.
Needless to say I am encouraging him as I think could be a lot of fun for him and his boys. Especially as I did manage to get to one of gregsters offroad days and got taken around in a Sport and realised how good the swb's are at getting around in that kind of environment.
He says that Fronteras seem rare in Israel and very expensive.
