Re: insuranceGlynwood 210 fully comp 1 named driver all mods declared even some I haven't done yet. Limiteted mileage (2000 pa) and only used for green lanes off roading but you but still legal to go shopping in when it snows
This can only end badly
Re: insuranceSorry to revive an old topic but I'm having serious trouble with my insurance renewal right now. I used Peter Best Insurance last year and it cost a little over £300 for the year fully comp for me and the missus. I let it lapse now though and apparently it was with aviva who will now only insure landrovers??? Must mean only LR for classic 4x4 insurance I gues sbut that's no longer an option so can't renew. I can get a standard quote with Tesco but it's over £400. Everything else just gets worse and worse so I thought I'd look here for any discussion on the topic.
Having tried most of the providers listed here I'm about to give the damn car up as all of my quotes are just complete BS! Martin from Llan used Budget for under £200 with 1yr NCD. I have 5 yr ncd and they want me to pay over a grand!!! Big dave used lancaster for under £200 but from me they want almost £900! I'm not a young man anymore, I'm 28 with 5 years NCD and I want the car insured with limited mileage for myself and the woman. Nothing fancy, just legal so I can actually use it. Seems that's asking too much though! Can someone with a decent quote please try to help me out here? Hell, I'd be happy to insure it in another name as an additional driver if it allows me to keep the damn thing! It's a 2.0 '96 sport btw. Please help if you can, if I can't sort this out in the next week or so I'll just have to sell it and I don't want to do that after the MOT and tax money I've just spent on her!!! EDIT : Scratch that, Adrian Flux it is! £240 tpf+t for both of us with lift declared and limited mileage. Not quite under 200 but still 200 cheaper than the next best one! Thanks in advance to everyone who was going to help me out with this, and for the next person who finds this thread like I did; try Adrian Flux first! Cheers, T
Re: insuranceI found glynwood just a tad cheaper than Adrian flux, all mods declared covered for 4x4 response duties, covered for off road etc, think was around £255 fully comp, in my experience it has usually been cheaper to insure with 4x4 specialist insurers over the others, start online but phone them to get best possible cover and price.
Re: insuranceWhen ever I've called them up they always tell me that it's all done online and that the online price is the best they can do. Or the best thing was when I got a online quote then called them up it was actually more over the phone than online lol, or when they give you a online quote that's alot less than the renewal price they send in the post. Does make you wonder lol
