Im after a syphon to use with oil and fuel there are so many out there and trying to sort out the good from bad im finding to be a nightmare from reading the reviews. So the big question is can anyone recommend a good one to help me out :)

Depending how much fuel you wish to move? My mate has got a fuel pump from a scrap yard and wire's it to a car battery and lets it run until the tanks empty.

This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ;) )

Sounds like a good idea using a old pump. I should have explained a bit more its to drain the fuel and oil from lawnmowers so not a lot. But cheers for the idea 4X4 Bobby :D

Why would it be a problem draining petrol with a fuel pump that's designed to pump petrol in the first place cant see the logic in that one? You don't put the pump down the tank hole you put a pipe so there is no open electrics near the fuel.

This one is ideal as it can be mounted to a block of wood to hold it still.
