injector cleaning..

Has anyone here had their injectors cleaned..and what were the benefits if any? I mean was there any improvement in mpg, throttle response or fuel burn (emissions)..

By cleaning I meant by one of the companies that clean them professionally, not the stuff you chuck in the tank.

been thinking of the thousands of litres of rubbish supermarket fuel that's been pumped through them since the dawn on man, and all the impurities that must be restricting flow by now. It must be affecting their performance by now

If you have had yours done, could you let me know by who and how much. please.

I had a set ultrasonically cleaned:

Cost me £80. This included testing the nozzles. End result was the nozzles are knackered so needed replacing. I didn't do any more at the time. One thing the company did say was that the £80 would be offset against the work done to replace the nozzles.

no but petrol injectors arent like diesel ones. diesel ones can be stripped and cleaned easily whereas petrol ones are afaik "disposable" with only a few serviceable parts filter buckets and o rings. best course of action if your thinking of this for a petrol is to use the 80quid against a new set.

I was thinking more along the lines of maintening/improving, rather than a repair.
as far as I know there is nothing wrong with my injectors. After having a quick look around a set of four new injectors would be cost a small fortune, the cheapest set of re-con ones would be a tad over £80.

I've got a spare set somewhere, so I might just get them done..just to find out. If it works, and improves mpg then the saving on fuel would eventually offset the cost (which is less than a tank of gas)
