Can anybody recomend an insurance company which can cope with modifications?

Apparently Adrian Flux specialise in 4x4 with mods insurance. My standard fronty was cheaper than anyone else with CIS!

Sorry was early, CIS are Coop Insurace Services. In standard guise they came up something like £200 cheaper than the rest...

I've been with co-op for 18 years now. Every year I try and find cheaper, and every year I can't.
So much so that in one year, I referred so many people that I got free insurance one year, and £150 off the following year. (That was when I went through an agent)
Currently paying £410 a year (with fees)
Slightly annoyed that insurance is going up so much. 4 years ago, my insurance for my Vitara was £113 for the year. The following year, £270.
They were also good when I got points 15 years ago. I was expecting a huge hike in my premium. But no, it went down £40
No idea what they are like with Modifications now, but when I had a 309gti lowered, chipped, and janspeed exhaust, my insurance wasn't effected. As long as I told them, it wont effect me unless I have a fault accident. But that was 14 years ago.

I am with Directline (have been for 18 years) at the moment paying £304 fully comp per year and I have been thinking about the things I would like to do to the 2.5.
So I made a list and ran it past them before taking out another year with them. They were ok with the alloy pepperpots with 255 75 15 tyres these have actually been on the fronty since I bought it and they are technically a mod and I should have told them. They are ok with a 2" bodylift but only if a garage do it.
They were also ok with me fitting a permanent bike rack on the back door like a Karrybike rack that are on some camper vans.
They were not ok with extra tie down points inside , or me taking the lining off the back door to put stuff in replacing it with a drop down ply cover, nor did they like me putting in compartments over the wheel arches to store stuff in. Out of all the mods these would be the most useful and the one I would do first
So I was not very impressed last night when I had finished on the phone to them as I think these mods are very modest.
The sales guy was apologetic but he couldn't do anything about it and suggested either a kit car or 4x4 specialist.
So thanks again for the suggestions and I have a few days to ring these companies to get quotes.
I'll post the upshots when its resolved.

hi mate my insurance was up for renewal, i was quoted £250 to stay with sureterm. i remembered theres an insurance thread on here where a member posted the ins brookers his son worked for so i gave him a ring & im glad i did because he got iit down to £180 :dance:

. now i must explain that its for second car cover & you dont get any no claims etc but theyre quite happy with modifications :wink:

the insurance company is liverpool victoria who i believe frank pickles used to insure modified 4x4s with

Thanks fogman I'll give them a go tommorrow, thats a much better price than Directline.

Just to let you all know I went with Keith Michaels in the end.
£328 fully comp with the mods (no worries at all its just as well because its already got the lift ) and business ues as well as social domestic and pleasure.
I forgot about asking for just third party fire and theft . I might see if they will change it.
I also forgot to ask about excess etc ie the small print.

I got cover from echoice yesterday for £176 fully comp for the year

On the topic of insurance, does anyone know of any Temp cover insurance companies for off roading 4x4's?

Been with Noel Dazely for 3 years, £180- fully comp with all mods declared plus it is covered for off roading (as in play sites) providing it is an organised event and I can prove that I am suitably qualified to drive a 4x4

It is limited milage (5000 miles) plus the policy doesn't accrue NCD
