general info peugeot 307 clutch

evening all just a general enquiry as any one done replaved a clutch on a 307 1.6 petrol 16v 2001 if so is the gearbox an to get out and any pointers would be great as the wifes motor now squeals and if your any good with a pedal you can play a few notes with the thrust bearing pedals been high for a while now so i gotta do it cos she wont have my fronty so can have a toy fronty

I had the same problem with my 307. The trust bearing is a common problem on them.
The big one is to make sure you disconnect the 2 gearbox cables off the top off the gearbox as these will break very easily If they break they are a Peugeot part only and cost about £160 to replace. The clips that hold the cables on top of the gearbox are fiddly and will more than likely break when you remove them.
I have the HDI which makes them hard to get at but unsure what room you will have with the petrol version

well abit of good news the brother in law is back at the weekend hes get it off yea so some help looks like one the air box is out half the engine bay is empty so should have a bit of room pain in the common fault really on top of the wheel bearing and drop links for its test

mine went too , but my cousin done it for me and i think he said it was an arse, but ive got the 1.4 hdi model

thing is unless its the truck thats being tinkered with i cant be arsed so the boys help will be good ex mechanic turned driver so keen to get his hands mucky again

well wait a complete and utter pain in the that was never agian will i be doing one of them again bolts in unreachable places t20/25 torxs bits 8mm allen key bolts ive done some crap jobs on cars before next time this wants owt its going into a garage but atleast its done and ive seen more meat on a butchers pencil than the plate and ive seen more metal in a rusty old landy than on the pressure plate lol and the thurst bearing looked like a donut that had been run over on the plus side when i get it finished i get my truck back
