my lucky escape.

That was lucky almost lost control of the car last night going round a bend at about 50mph. So stopped to check car all the back wheel nuts where loose and one stud snapped.

luckily it was no the way to work and not on the way home at 3am the roads are clear so i normally do 70ish :lol:

I think some one may have wanted my wheels or they wanted me to crash it. :twisted:

so today i have taken it all apart to look at the damage I now need 6 new studs vx £15.62 (don't have any in stock until tomorrow ) plus I need a new wheel as well because the holes for the studs are egg shape

Good thing you stopped as further down the road your wheel would of more than likely passed you. Could of been a lot worse and glad your ok.

Had that happen with my terrano couple of years back ! Towing a caravan aswell ! Heard a funny noise at the front end ! Pulled over after negotiating down the 12degree hill !!!!! To find my front driver sode wheel hanging on by 1 nut !!!!! Bad day all round ! Let's ya no your still aliv hey !!!!

Happened to me as well a few years back, i was in the same predicament "was some Thievin Fooka trying to steal ma wheels. Or did someone want to cause me damage, but didnt have the nuts to say so to my face" :shock:

dont torment yourself about it, just be glad your ok

happened to me week before annual. im v glad the rear arch caught the wheel stopping me dragging my diff along the road

Andy. I've got a 15" steelie you can have gratis mate. No tyre on it tho so you'd just have to have yours swapped over

I've Put my spare on for now until I get a new set of wheels.

Watched a duplicate event unfold in it's full glory a couple of years back. Following Paul (mapracing) home from Ian's place after collecting what is now Gregs wrecker truck. Rear nearside came off, overtook Paul as he was slewing up the road on three wheels. Loose wheel thrundled up through a hedge leaving an exact shape of the wheel and tyre through the undergrowth - a bit like watching a Tom & Jerry cartoon. Apart from bending a couple of wheel studs, the only real damage was the brake disc being flattened off.

Close shave fella...was it one of your shoggy rims that got mullered, only if so I might be able to get you an odd one to make the set complete again.

@Greg no It was one of the original rims that come with bob. I think they are B series rims
6 new studs fitted today ( what a nightmare getting them in) had to use a bit of heat and a big breaker bar.
