well cheers all, got windows up yesterday, spent the rest of day searching and looks like today is gonna be the same... I hate Electrics !!! :hang:

You sure its not the control box in the centre console under the pocket?

I had a weird one where the passenger window would wind down all the way when you turned the ignition on. Even if you stopped it it would then carry on till it went all the way. Replaced the control box with a second hand one for £10 and all was well.

Hi, Just a thought,

When I had my A series had the same problem, all windows just spontaniously went down and would not come up.

it was a 4 door LWB, I bought a new window control unit and replaced it, still didn't fix, I then replaced the drivers side switches, still nothing. replaced the passenger side switches and everything worked fine again.

So if you need it, I have a 4 window control box, but you issue may be the passenger side switches - there seems to be an extra wire/box on that side.. all other parts were tested ok, so maybe its the same for you.

check the lockout switch if you have 5 door A. that may be sticky and stopping the windows working.
