MOT questions & answers

I've seen quite a few "is this part of the MOT ?" type question over the last few years and I dare say more and more will pop in the future with the amended test having now commenced.
There's always people happy to give answers but I've noticed that a lot of those answers are inaccurate or based on personal assumption.

Using the link you can read or download the whole manual as posted directly from VOSA, it might also be useful when and if your vehicle fails it's MOT as not every examiner is quite as update on some of the regs as they should be

My rear plate is a sticky job on the tailgate. Don't know if it even properly reflective or not, but as it original it passes MOT
Didn't realise there was an official form to contest the result though.

it's the Vt17 form..all MOT garages should have them..if they don't here it is..(in the old days they had to hold them)

you can use the same form even if you pass an MOT and then think it's wrong..
also, I think that an Mot garage have to have a veiwing area, that should be offered at the time or requested.
