Fuel Consumption

What you guys getting, AT YOUR VERY BEST.

i got a 2.2dti rs sport last week, before that i had a lexus IS200 (2.0), and my wife has a 1.6 fiat stilo. In my lexus it would cost me about £40 a week for work (about 120 miles), my wifes costs £30 so we use hers. This week i put £30 in the fronty, and seem to be beating my wifes car! now i know my gauge is a bit wobbly but could this be correct, by driving a fronty carefully and hardly ever dipping into the turbo, could i get same consumption as a 1.6!!?!?

yup mine does about 160-200 miles on 40 and mines petrol

Mines a lwb and I average around 36mpg at the minute (with the roof lights which kill it a bit). For their size they are pretty good on fuel

i get about 19mpg (if i'm lucky) with mine right now. Imagine the 31" tyres and roof spots don't help

From a full tank to Just under three quarters I have just got 200 miles

that's going 95% town driving and 5% dual carriageways.
The tank was right to the brim!

Mines an x22se. I get ave 24.5 @55-60mph on long distance...thats with roof rack,trailer and 255/65/16 muds on. Overall over 40,000 miles its averaged 23mpg...not brilliant but I can live with it.........I've changed o2 sensor due to mot fail......It ran better with the faulty one in!......cam sensor...made no difference at all, except for eml light ....and finally the map sensor, one genuine one came up very cheap. It deffinatly ran smoother with the new one, but felt slightly lacking in power if thats poss in a 2.2. Anyway left it in and just drive it...fuel consumption hasnt changed with the parts replaced. BUT the one thing that does make a difference on these engines is the AIR FILTER. The book sys 12000 change, but I notice they start to affect mpg after about 5000 miles, so it gets changed at 5000. If you shop around you can get gen ones for less than a fiver, compared to the usual price of 12-15 quid. I have to keep a close eye on it as i'm using £45.00 of fuel a day at present :shock:

Not good atm, did 109 miles yesterday from Brize to Pennington. Left at 18:15 and arrived about 20:45 (2.5 hrs - ish) left full and re-filled this morning.

Now, having done the math it works out at 20.48 mpg, a wee bit down on the normal 30 to 34 mpg I usually get

That said, there was this strange box like thing with Baileys stickers all over it that was right behind me and it chased us all the way... As much as I tried, I just couldnt get away from it :lol:

i think mine is x22se the block is cast iron and it looks v similar to my x20se block
