A lot will depend on the availability of the panels. Where we would nip down to the scrappy and unbolt a £15 wing, if they can't source it new they'll write it off.

Insurance companies will not use second hand parts, so if they write it off you will most likely need to buy it back as a CAT C and repair it yourself and have a VIC check on it, like a strict MOT.

If they can get the parts they may repair it, but as said they may deem it beyond economical repair compared to the price of the car.

well ive hunted the net and carnt find new headlights with clear lenses any were

where did you hunt cause ebay is full of frontera parts

Bear in mind you aren't obliged to take any offers the insurance company makes. If you can get the bits you can tell them to record the accident and take no further action.

Put 'frontera breaking' into ebay and have a look - there's allsorts on there at the moment, and if need be you could always swap both headlights for standard ones while you hunt for the other clear one...

I was in this position a few months back when a nice man in a transit van put me up on my side in my 53 plate V6 lwb, I had only had the car a couple of months and had a LPG conversion on it only 3 weeks before the accident and did not want the car written off, had just about all the parts needed to fix it on my old W reg V6 lwb base got the insurance to pay me out to repair the car myself (yes they will do it) which was cheaper than them righting it off and meant that the car is not reg as a cat c or d or anything they paid me out £2250 my local accident repair center took the bits off my old car fitted them to the new one repaired the bits that could not be changed and re painted the car for what the insurance paid me out, jobs a good one

i had the same problem a few years back (see my pre post with pics) they accident repair company was going to write mine off told them i wanted it back as it was only cosmetic damage their recovery driver told me when he brought it back they dont do 4x4 accident repairs gave me a list of other who do also said it was his last week at NATIONAL REPAIR CENTERS they also broke things that wernt broke good job i took pics before they took it away told insurance to knock it of the cost of repair insurance company took all details and pics as they had had complains re company they used ps still got frontera
