Hi all, I received a new log book the other day for the frontera, even though i did not apply for one. The new one was red and a note attached said it was a replacement for the original blue one, as the dvla has had a theft of blank blue v5's and are now re-issuing all drivers with red ones instead. Has anyone heard of this because all the people i have asked know nothing about it Cheers Daz

I have one for my Nissan ... but a blue one for the Bighorn and the wifes Arsetra.
It was in response to the stolen ones and introduced about 2 years ago now I think.
Important things with the new one is the scrappage side of things. It now means that any vehicle with a red document has to be taken to an authorised dismantler ... I was speaking to my scrppy when I got one and he said that he is authorised so business as normal, and most scrap yards will just get the license to be authorised dismantlers. Its just an excercise o make sure that scrap yards dispose of old oil, air-con gas etc properly due to enviromantal pressures.
Given a bit of time things will be business as normal I reckon.

It still has a registration so has to be taken to a approved recyling center. Should of put only if on the new style log book.
