Well as requested heres the write up, appologies for no pictures but with the car being so large and having to correct the previous owners cleaning mistakes i needed to just crack on with it
so here we go lol
Mixed up a 50/50 mix of billberry wheel cleaner and sprayed onto the wheels and tyres, left to dwell for 5 mins then sprayed again and aggitated with a stiff wheel brush. Rinsed off and was left with a completly clean wheel, Completly got rid of all the silicone tyre spray too so i was very happy with that!
Using a karcher snowfoam lance and bottle, i mixed a soloution of snowfoam and maxisuds II. Connected it to the pressure washer and snow foamed the car. I didnt rinse the car before because it loosens more of the dirt when dry. Used quite a thick blanket as i wanted to soften as much of the ingrained dirt and more importantly get rid of the silicone spray, Once it started to dissipate i sprayed it again then jet washed it off.
I mixed up a bucket of maxi suds II and washed the car with a wash mit, I used the 2 bucket method as i didnt want to risk picking up a stone or any other contaminate that the snow foam and pressure washer missed. Once washed i rinsed it with the pressure washer.
Once fully rinsed i started claying the car, i used CYC agressive clay and meguairs last touch detailer. I decided on the agressive clay because with it being a 4x4 its bound to of got muddy and hit its fair share of branches. This has to be done by touch rather than by eye because the clay creates marring, swirls and some RDS's, But its well worth it, youll definatly notice a difference in touch when its finished, although it does look rather dull.
I washed it again to get rid of any clay residue, thats definatly one thing you dont want on a polishing pad, then dried with a drying towel.
Then I set up the G220 with a medium pad and used chemicial guys all in one polish sealent and glaze, This cuts the paint and protects it, it removes the majority of minor paint defects and helps fill some of the major ones. Normally i would use a seperate polish, sealent and glaze to get rid of everything, but its gonna get muddy and abused by the weather over the winter so this is mainly for protection and to give a good base to start with if i want to go the whole hog in the spring. Right on with the polishing, basically i worked every pannel and worked the polish in on various speeds untill it turns clear, then its ready to buff off.
Next i dressed the tyres with meguairs endurance tyre gel and a paint brush, definatly the biggest tyres ive done lol
Checked for any polish residue and gave the car a quick wipe over with meguairs last touch detailer ready for waxing, I gave the frontera a generous waxing of petes 53 wax and applyed it with a waxing pad. Left it to cure while i cracked on with the rest of the car.
Cleaned the glass inside and out with meguairs fast glass and treated the plastic parts with poorboys natural look dressing, its not silicone based so dosent last as long but definatly gives a more natural look to the plastic with out any of the mess.
Then buffed off the wax and had a well deserved cup of tea.
Job done, ready for winter and mud!! Not worried about getting it muddy as its well protected so itll just jetwash off and still leave a nice smooth finish.
Goes to show how good a job you did on your truck and top marks for the endurance.
