04 astra 1.6 wee bit of advice needed

im heading down sound on tuesday my nephew has asked me to have a look at his motor , its knocking its backside of !!!!!!

im not needing a diagnosis but some tec advice !!! torque settings for rocket cover bolts being the main 1 ...........
iv seen and heard this heep of :butt:

running and its :axe:

but needing to get it sorted so he can get shut as he is being posted out to afagan in october :hang:

the rocker cover bolts settings is 8nm or 5.9 ft lb :drink:

top class ...... touch wood a can sort it for him . doesnt help he has a lead foot lol ......... noise sounds like its coming from back of engine !!!!! 1 of the sick feelings it would be easyer to source a new lump !!!!!
