Vehicle model ID

Does anyone know how to get the full info on a vehicle?
Tried DVLA but they give you everything but the make and model. :shock:

Yesterday at the Scottish meeting, Ash and I were trying to find out which model his 2.5 TDS is.
(ie, Transglobe, San Diego etc)
He doesn't have anything showing in his log book and other paperwork. Simply says:
Vauxhall Frontera Estate 2.5TDS.
Does anyone have a database anywhere?

Sounds like a base model, my Sport was an Apache and that was stated on the log book, my 2.8 tdi is down as just that on the book and I know its a base model.

and mine shows 2.8tdi diamond

Only thing I have got is a model code of : 952UM

Nothing else

The conversation came up whilst talking about the different trims in the cars, and the lack of sun roof on some.
I know that all manufacturers have different grades for each model, which dictates the differences.
ie, years ago Ford would have L.XL.GXL.Ghia. GT. Super. E. Lotus. Sport. etc etc. All having different fittings to the inside and outsides.
I found it really weird that Ash had no trace of this model in any of his paperwork.

As said if it doesnt state it will be a base model, though some base models do have optional extras on them and that can throw some people out on the model class later on in its life as that will not show on the log book.

Some manufacturers in the 80's and 90's even let the dealers decide if they wanted to add extras in their own work shop, these where obviously only cosmetic add ons.

That was added to the conversation Ste. As one of the dealers I worked for, made their own alterations to the fiesta.
And they were well known as everyone around Edinburgh wanted one.
