Postby drinksoptional on Thu May 26, 2011 1:36 pm

As some of you know i switched to sure term insudrance for the lwb.
First i got charged an extra tenner cause i was lae sending form although i had phoned them and they said put note on computer i then got a letter saying i was getting charged £40 admin charge cause the direct debt bounced on top of that a £10 bank charge i had £ 32.29 in bank the direct debt was £33.13 now reason for my debt bouncing was i didnt know about ten pound charge.

So i do not recommend them and i will be phoning to sort this and prob canclem my insurance if it doesnt cost me an arm and leg as it less than a month i think
im sharing this to warn other members

I personally had a bad time with them too.
I did a 2" body lift on one of my fronty's. That was ok, but when I did a 2" suspension lift, they cancelled my insurance, as they wouldn't insure over a 3" lift????
They had no idea that the 2 lifts were different and claimed that it was because the overall height of the car was now 4" higher.

Anyway, they tried to charge me £25 cancellation fee. Er hello. I didn't cancel the insurance. Then they claimed I owned them money on the policy.

In short, I told them to stuff it, and went to their main rivals who I never had any problem with (until renewal time when the put their price up by 70% ).

I first encountered this £40 admin charge rip-off with Sureterm but I understand many insurance companies now apply such fees.
If you are considering carrying out any changes to your policy then, if you can, hold off until renewal time as you won't get stung if dealt with at the renewal.
When I took out insurance with Sureterm I was told that the policies would not generate a no-claims discount but providing I didn't claim and the vehicle stayed the same the policy would not differ much year-on-year. So far they have been good to their word but I will reserve judgement until when my policy is due in Sept.
The only reason I went to them was they were one of only two companies that would cover my requirements.
Should the policy price go skywards I will have to consider standard road-user cover and confine my "off-roading" to crumbling potholed streets and wintertime snows.

i'm with them and to be honest i'm quite happy..fair enough all my truck has in way of mods is a 2'' body lift, but they are happy with that, and so am I..it didn't cost me any extra (but it would have cost £97 extra if i'd done it after i took the policy out)..now last policy they did F*** up the payment, but a quick call (well two, one to sureterm and one to the finance company that do the payment thing) got the £40 charge removed..all was well..

still with them..can't complain really..(mine actually went down with them, AND it was with the same company (who wanted to charge me near £1k on their own))

think it's like lots in life, sometimes you hit trouble..sometimes it's good...

(i've got another car, so i'm gaining no claims on that..so i'm not really too bothered by not having it on the fronty...all i'm bothered about is the truck being legal)
The greatest lesson in life is to know that even us idiots are right sometimes
