Mazda RX8?

Hi all

My miss wants a Mazda RX8, it's just going to be a weekend car for her.

But I don't know nothing about them,so are they any good,and what goes wrong with them.

Not too hot on fuel economy mate. And it has that dreaded rotary engine.

i don't now much about the rx8 but my dad new someone that had one he loved the car but it had a tendency to get through oil the dealer said it was something to do with the engine design. but he loved the car

drink a lot of fuel drink more oil

On the plus side with the lift you have on yours you could park over the top of it. Handy if you've only got a single garage.

took one on a test drive,my mate works driving cars up and down the country so i get to test alot of cars,the rx8 is very fast and engine is nice and smooth,down side is it was very skitty in the bends and very easy to make it step out (i was screwing it lol) even in a straight line in the wet when your foots right down you feel the back end twitching,spooky when your doing 70 plus, it handles as bad as the mg roadster,its a nice car but a drivers car and i wouldnt want my wife driving one,tell her to get a new golf gti,its just as fast and damn near impossible to loose it,i thrashed one of those and had the tyres screaming through the bends and it never stepped out once,got it home and the smell of burning rubber was unreal,out of all the fast cars ive driven nothing felt as safe as the golf driving it fast,the rx8 is damn scary.

basically the rotor tips wear resulting in a drop in compression and combustion chamber leakage. leading to making it thirstier on oil and fuel. and there is no amount of engine maintenance can prevent it

rotary engine Jason uses a lot of oil and mpg around 19mpg to 21mpg high revving engine loves to be driven hard as all the powers at the top end
