They're cheap because they have bad reputation. They're also WAY underestimated when it comes to off road performance. Don't get me wrong, a tricked out Defender or Discovery will always yet through the rough stuff, but Fronteras are way more capable for most people.

Gotta agree cheap, prior to me getting mine I was looking at defenders and disco's but wasnt prepared to spend silly money on rubbish - so glad I got a fronty - love it so much now got 2

I only had my 2.3 for 2 weeks , but it pulled like a train. I got quite into the faint turbo whistle as well

i dont know what the bad rep is only that every time i asked about them everyone said wooo no stay away from those they are terrible.
i still bought it though and well chuffed at the moment.

I love my old 2.3 aswell mate, pulls like a train and still does about 35mpg

Loved my old 2.3. Topped out at 8mph so no fear of speeding, but you can pull a house down with them.
