hi everyone
i am thinking to get a diesel frontera (love my petrol one) but am a bit confused regarding barmy boris and his l.e.z i know its going to affect business or commercial vehicles but my frontera would be a private light goods same as a car do i get charged i know i am ok for 2012 but does any one know if it will affect me 2013 and onwards ,i have looked at the tfl site but not very clear really created by muppets i would imagine.
any clarity would be brilliant as i do want to get a diesel( fond memories of my old2.3 slug) thanks for any advice.

we had to sell our mazda pickup but it shouldnt effect a frontera, 4x4 utility vehciles are things like the landrover defender, in effect its a 4x4 van or pickup.

If it says estate car on your log book you should be fine, for now at least, things will only get stricter, give it twenty years and it'll be emergency vehicles and electric power in cities only.

Having checked this out fully myself (as I live just outside the LEZ), I can assure you that you that Boris won't be getting any more money from you if you buy a diesel Frontera

I was reading tghis afternoon Brussels is now advocating that the EU is to stop relying oil and consequently looking to ban all petrol and diesel engined vehicles from cities by 2050.

We can still keep our Frontys though, just cut the floors out, offer folk lifts and travel Fred Flintstone style; up-market models will have enclosed floors but with four sets of pedals for use by passengers to provide motive power.
Then, the methane rates will go up!
