I have a big dilemma.....

I am coming to the end of a contract at work and have got new work (which is good news) but it is in the london underground. Not a major issue
if you live in london I hear you say but I dont, I live in Ramsgate. For me to use my trusty 2.8 to get to london everyday as you can imagine is not going to
be cheap even by the 2.8 economy standards so.......

Unless my company lets me keep or supplies me with an alternative vehicle/transport.

It could be the end of the fronty for me or try and find something that I can use to run up to london in, that isnt going to cost much to buy/run.

My beloved 2.8 may end up in the for sale thread.... :sick:

Noooo dont do that, get a cheap old astra 1.7 diesel (without the turbo) Going to be peanuts to buy and gives around 50mpg. I had one in Cyprus and they run forever. You'll recover the cash for the purchase in no time with that economy

Are you working for LU or as a contractor. If it's for LU directly you should be able to claim free travel on the train from home to work plus all your family (wife & kids) can get free bus and train travel anywhere in the UK

Get your employeer to check that out for ya.

Depending on what you need to carry with you Kel do what i did and buy a 1.4 VW Golf, 40MPG road tax £128 a year. bits are cheap to. I use mine to go to work and all non essential stuff like shopping with the Mrs then i get out the Fronty to play and scare people!!!!!! :dance:

Is driving into work going to be an option with congestion charges etc? I would do whatever I coud to keep the Fronty, you have to have some escape in life.

I've got £700 to play with when can i come and pick it up?? :wink:

I might be swearing here,but what about a motorbike,cheap as chip,s and park in the smallest of spaces,dirty the number plate no congestion charge,although do not know if charge applies to bike.but just a thought anyway my man.

Kel, have you got a Bike Licence mate ? If so grab one of the many cheapys that are up for sale at the minute as everyones now outing their winter hacks and dusting off their superbikes for summer there's loads of bargains to have.

A decent CB500 (has no style at all but pretty much bullet proof) which is ideal for commuting on the cheap should set you back about £500 to £600 and will probably still be worth exactly the same when you come to sell it on after the contract ends.

No Kel don't get rid of your fronty m8t...Its a good clean motor and one you obviously enjoy owning and will be very hard to replace it with another in the same conditions as yours is in m8t. I'm sure with your savvy you will think of something :wink:
