Worst 3.2 fuel consumption ?

I'm fed up with seeing posts with "my 3.2 will do 20- 28 mpg" from you lot
Mine does 11- 15mpg, am I envious ? You bet your life I am what with the cost of fuel at the moment, so bear in mind there is a double cost to a few little modifications , when you think about send yours up in the air
There again, when its out on the lanes it all seems worth it

Yeah the sport pickup I've got with no back and 4" lift has similar aerodynamic challenges . I reckon on 15-20mpg max.

I'm consistently getting 14 mpg, worst I've had was around the 11mpg mark at the same time as destroying my gearbox. So expensive weekend that one all round.

Since i have lifted mine by +4 and put my aggressive 235-85-16 mud tyres on i am getting 20mpg
Cannot grumble really as my old 2.0 only did 20mpg
Have got to say that i miss my 2.8 mpg wise as it was excellent

I had heard from a mutual friend that you were a bit heavy footed Andy, but u sure that your only getting 6mpg ?
If so, yours makes mine seem economical

the only way you going to get 28mpg out of a v6 is to drive constantly at about 50mph in 5th gear on a flat road and you will have to live, shop and work and drop the kids off at school along that same road without too much stopping and accelerating.
Best I average is 21-22mpg on a combined sort of cycle. Having said that I'm not sure where laning fits in on that same road???

well not lived with mine long but over a week its turning in 25 mpg it was 22 mpg last week but then i noticed i had a caliper seized so freed it up now a few miles more. It is a completly standard 99 lwb 3.2 though and being older now i just crusie at 60 down duel carrage way but not bad for going into the centres of citys on way to and from work. I had a 2lt alfa 156 before this and only got 27 to gallon in that ( although i did drive it like a alfa should be driven )

yea A46 most of the way at 60 which i get about 30 mpg on then drops as i get into the edge of citys. Have to admit its such a nice drive having all that power when u need it, looking forward to towing van with it next month and seeing how it does

I bought mine from Edinburgh, and came home on one tank full,this is great I thought, now I think I'd be lucky to get half way since that its been slightly modified

Since putting my AT's on I'm getting slightly better mileage but having said that they're only 225's so narrower than the standard tyres But I'm wanting bigger boots now so better get saving for that fuel increase

LOL i had a rangie classic before 3.5 v8 efi 14 mpg then added 2" lift and huge grizzly claws and went to 10 to 12 mpg so i am very happy with it at min with 25mpg and as i got it for towing caravan and getting on and off wet/ muddy feilds when dog showing it will be staying fairly standard maybe just a good set of AT's mind you thats how the rangie started off

Just to upset G i have been using the V6 everyday for work for the past week and half as the Honda was in the garage having the clutch done.
Any how driving to work is a 10 mile run down the motorway followed by 5 miles in bumper to bumper traffic getting into Birmingham town centre.
I then use the truck throughout the day clocking up on average 20miles of city driving and then do the revers of getting to work.
I am running 235/85/16 aggressive mud tyres and have a +4 lift and have managed 21mpg
I am well happy with that considering how much city driving i have done

Thats not bad Colley, I actually managed 27mpg on Sunday over almost 100 miles around Surrey near Guildford and Woking to Egham. Nice 40 to 50mph and she returned good mpg.

Today though Did a bit of heavy towing and returned 20.5mpg all around the same areas
