Re: difference between petrol DTi and petrol ltd both 2.2Other than one is diesel and one is petrol I'm not sure what you mean mate. Are you talking trim / performance/ issues etc etc ?
Re: difference between petrol DTi and petrol ltd both 2.2Hi I am looking at a frontera on ebay and it is advetised as dti- petrol - question him and this is the reply
'Many questions asking the same thing since listed.to make clear it is a DTI model and it is a petrol 2.2 16v.Which is the same as the Limted and the RS Models.Named and sold in this country as the DTI sport. It is stated on the V5 as DTI 2.2 petrol. And i have checked on google aswell to confirm this. Many thanks Darren and looked on parkers and there is a petrol Dti sport petrol? still confused to what the differnce is? Many thanks Gary Last edited by BoxCleva on Sun Feb 27, 2011 7:44 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: difference between petrol DTi and petrol ltd both 2.2Ahhh now I understand. The seller is an idiot.
Dti is diesel and only diesel. Unless someone removed the engine and put a 2.2 petrol in it's place as a conversion (yikes Limited is the trim specification. It is therefore possible to have a Dti Limited and a 2.2 petrol limited.
Re: difference between petrol DTi and petrol ltd both 2.2Well said Si, heh...

Re: difference between petrol DTi and petrol ltd both 2.2That is a 2.2 petrol limited 5 door (facelift)
Dti does not come into it.
Re: difference between petrol DTi and petrol ltd both 2.2Cheers Gary...
As said, it's very definitely a petrol model, as a quick ask of the DVLA database reveals, given that the seller leaves the reg plate showing. Ignore the DTi bit, cos the seller is indeed a bit of a pratt on that score. Whether it's worth the starting price is better left to somebody with more knowledge of the 2.2 B's. Jim Jim...

Re: difference between petrol DTi and petrol ltd both 2.2Hmmm, I was unaware of that particular gotcha, Mark. As I suspect is BoxCleva, heh. Maybe the seller's not so daft as we think, and his V5 does indeed say DTi, despite being a petrol.
Cheers Mark, Jim. Jim...

Re: difference between petrol DTi and petrol ltd both 2.2I'm well aware of this. It doesn't just affect Frontera's or indeed Vauxhall's. My wife's 1600 Focus says 1800 on the logbook, even though the engine no. tally's and is completely original.
Regardless of what it says on the logbook the seller should know what he/she is selling. If he is the owner you would hope he knows what he's been driving for the past however long. If he's in the trade he should know better. Anyway, at the end of the day his lack of understanding will only make buyers wary so it's not doing him any favours.
