Any thoughts on this as a purchase, I know the vehicle has done a few miles, but having a brand new 2.8 35k ago is quite attractive. Anyone close to it.

Having the new engine would be a big plus for it Jim (That's a big part of the reason why I bought the Bus) even if the car itself has done a few more.
It looks in good nick too. Shame I'm not closer, else I'd have a look for you.

Make double sure the engine has been done by a dealer and had the proper injector work done, complete with the Tech 2 hook up to set the ORPS. Price is a bit high to be honest but with a bit of haggling you should be fine especially with the high miles on the rest of the vehicle. Check for rot on the crossmembers and body mounts. Check the 4wd system works (push button SOTF like the Frontera B) if the 4wd doesn't work properly then more money off ... and potentially an easy cheap fix.

I watched the same year, model, colour go through an auction last Friday for £1800. I thought that was a bit over the top to be honest.

This engine has known to have a few faults, which Isuzu to their credit have been rectifying, hence probably the new engine. Most of the vehicle is basically the same as the models before save the 3.0 engine. Many love it and it's a powerful engine when you get a good one. Must have the right oil in it though.
Ooooops!! Just read it's had a 2.8 bunged in, happy days then. There is a garage specializing in this conversion.

Yes, its in Wales I think, they fit them in new land rovers and the like, cost about £2k plus for them to supply the new engine and fit it :shock:

£2250 is ridiculous.

For comparison. My Dti was £1200 last year it's a year newer , with 35000 less miles and it;s had a pump. Mine to be fair is not the limited model, but that doesn't account for such a difference in value.

I just think you are looking in the wrong place mate, although a lot of it is luck - right place right time etc.

Have you been to your local car auction ? Tried Gumtree and Swapz etc ?
