Auto Windscreens go down the pan!

Yep..... gone..... recievership.
Good job too..... I've had nothing but grief and lies from this company for the past 3 - 4 months.
"Windscreen not available" (What.... for a Frontera?) was one of their fabrications.
Turns out they were so financially up the creek none of their suppliers would touch them with a barge pole.
Gone to Autoglass now - no problems at all, screen fitted tomorrow!

Ive just been reading about that, not good for the staff though

sod the fools at the top, its the people lower down the line that suffer.

Had the same problem last week too.
Screen on my van burst (57 plate Movano), and they quoted 3 weeks delivery.
Found it hard to believe they didn't carry one in stock. This explains it.

It's sad to see any company go down the pan, but I'm sure that autoglass or national windscfreens will buy them up to get their customer base and hopefully take on some if not all their staff.

I thought they'd been part of RAC for a while now?
Or has that changed / am I dreaming stuffs?

With all the potholes and associated stone chips flying about I would have thought this was a booming industry, here's hoping someone can employ the staff who will now be jobless.

When I found our office was closing I really couldnt be bothered going out of my way, granted a lot of people in the office where thick and not pulling their weight or trying in the slightest and this went on for years even with the best efforts of me and a couple of others in there to get things to improve, these people contributed to me and themselves being made redundant and the only consolation was I got 5 times more redundancy than most of them. My point is the staff at the windscreen company may have seen the writing on the wall and where not inclined to give their all :dunno:

I used this company when it was taken over by RAC. Autoglass quoted £428 and RAC did the job for £193.
I went back to them and they had been taken over by the German company and the staff seemed quite happy about it and sealed my screen for free, not the same car.
Just been back to them last Dec and they had changed the name to Mobile Windscreens Ltd, based in Bristol. They did the job for £150. This was their Crawley branch and the fitter who came to my home to replace the screen said that most of Autoscreens branches had been sold or closed and that the operation was more or less purely mobile, so that would explain why they were not carrying their own stock.

The staff will be shattered. :rotfl:

Seriously,its not good when staff get laid off when a company goes bust and the government doesnt do enough to help businesses that are struggling.
