Tips on buying a V6

Hi all
Its been nearly a year since I sold my 2.2 B swb to my son.So I am getting the urge to buy another one I am thinking along the lines of a fairly new 3.2 V6 5 door I would appreciate any pointers of what to look out for [ bad bits] and also has anyone done an LPG conversion and if so does it affect the performance in any way bearing in mind I will be towing a twin axle caravan during the summer many thanks in advance

A few years ago I had an 02 Plate V6 that I had converted to LPG. Had a 60 Litre tank fitted under the car so no loss of boot space, think I paid about £1300 for the conversion at the time but that was about 3-4yrs ago.
Ran fine on LPG and no noticeable loss of power. Only thing I would say, is check the price of LPG in your area as around here it's nearly doubled and is now close to 80p a litre so there are actually very few savings to be had. If you do huge mileage then it would still be worth doing the conversion but I recon at todays prices you'd need to cover about 40,000 mls before the conversion actually paid for itself and you saw any real world savings so would recomend doing your sums before splashing out....

Hi Mark,
That was an 51 plate and it's still going fine. Had a problem a few weeks after picking it up from you when the LPG piggy back ecu fried itself and it took the tossers at tasso ten weeks to get a replacement in.
I bought an LPG Range Rover for towing as that Frontera can only tow 2800 kgs legally. I'm now thinking of selling the RR as I've given up the towing business as my time is more valuable than the profit it was bringing in.
