2.3 Diesel

HI need a bit of advice have heard of a 1994 2.3 diesel thats up for sale.Now i have not yet seen the motor but it needs a fuel pump to start with and it has done about 100000 miles and it has got a mot ticket.What i would like to know is how much roughly a fuel pump would be and what is the general opinion of this engine.

Fuel pumps aint cheap...but I would be concerned about buying it without hearing it running...the mileage isnt too much concern, they go on for a good few more than that, but can suffer oil pump probs which can lead to a knackered engine, which I guess you wouldnt know until you've bought it and fitted a pump...

Engine itself is pretty dependable, not the fastest truck in the world compared with 2.8's and 2.5's...

How much is it? as you can get one up and running for £500ish and save the hassle...

I love it, ive got a 1993 l reg, It starts up no problem in all this cold weather, Its my only car and i use it every day. It will never set any land speed records, and can be a bit smokey when you boot it, But its so simple very few electrics [how a engine should be ]

No idea about the price of a fuel pump mate, seen complete engines on ebay for about £100 and up. Try ebay mate

Gregster they want 300 for it.I was hoping it was going to be a 2.8 or maybe a 2.5.I used to have a 3.2 till for some unkown reason i sold it.If it had been a 2.8 i think i would have taken a chance and bought it.Looks like i will have to wait a bit longer and see if any appear on here.

I have a spare 2.3 pump sat in my garden shed,if you want it £20 plus postage.
