parts on ebay

Ive seen a few bits on ebay and just wanted peoples opinions on whether they will be any good.
Im going on the laning trip in Jan/ Feb so ive been looking at shackles and recovery strap ect.
Plus some new lights

You dont need lights, they are illegal on the highway, of which a green lane is :wink:

The tow rope is okay but I would prefer something stronger.

can't you have lights at all on the roof now then. I thought they was still ok.

You can, but they shouldn't be used on the highway

To be honest I have never had lights on the roof and never saw the need for them, just my personal view

they can make the trucks look good though

Cover the chrome with wax, but have to say all that style I have seen have a layer of rust bubbling under the chrome, duraglit maybe? is that still available ?

Roof lights do not have the same rules as fog lights and they can not be used legally on the highway even when wired in together :wink:

And it probably should be mentioned that "greenlanes" are public roads & are covered by the same vehicle lighting regulations as those imposed on "metaled" roads :wink:

Been using that strap all day mate..... Loving it 4T limit is all good.

Officially no, but when I'm on my way home at 1 or 2 am then addmittedly I do use them on the cuntry roads,but only when there's noone else around (most of the way home). in my eyes they are a safty feature and should be allowed to be used in the same way as full beam. but oh well. if noones around, who's guna know eh? id rather see that dear or fox in the bushes in time for me to slow down incase it jumps out and causes a crash. and who can argue with that?
