Impressed

Just been out in the fronty in the snow, this is my first fronty and first time in the snow with it, All i can say is very impressed

. I had to do a hill start on compacted snow, i had to select low box to do this and she set off like the road was clear.
The more i drive the Frontera the more they impress me :dance:

Haven't had the chance do try mine out yet and looks like I wont get to either, snow isn't settling.

this is also the 1st time ive driven my frontera in the snow and think its amazing , my girlfriend thinks its got a magic button on the dash when she drives it :lol:

Mines has been sitting in the snow since friday evening.
Just been out to clear it off and it started first time. I'm hoping to get out in it today.
All my FOG stickers have frozen and come off the windows.

You have to be careful with that scapper Keith :lol:

More stickers available next week :wink:

Haven't had the chance yet to take my fronty out in the snow, due to it having a flat battery

and tyre, but hope to get them sorted this week

Feeling nervous about driving her in this weather to be honest :oops:

If I can land in a field in the rain, god knows where I will end up in the snow :roll:

I have never once used mine in 4x4 mode in the 10yrs i've owned it but did take mine out today & found it pulls ok but it don't arf slide coming out of junctions...What should i be using..High or Low range ??

High range if slippy enough and low range on road only if your stuck or very likely to get stuck. :wink:

Its not fit to put a milk bottle out around here(Derbyshire) :lol:

On my travels this week Iv seen 4 accidents, one peugeot/citreon thing at the end of my road and 3 discoveries in a ditch.

Remember folks, having 4 wheel drive doesnt mean you can still drive as normal on icy/snowy roads, braking distances are still longer and the car can still slide. You just have a better chance of not getting stuck.

So take care and drive sensibly and keep the speed down.

i took mine out today in the snow (to go to work

and had to pull out of my car dip in low but them it was 2wd and 4wd all the way. drove ok. just keep more distance and i was fine..
i have seen soem very stupid people today, leaving it to the last min to brake etc.

but i got mine just at the right time.

I'm loving mine.

2wd is a hoot with a bit of slip but in 4wd it is almost impossible to unstick it!! The BFG's are awesome.

I'm hardly touching the brakes and letting the engine slow me down it rocks.

I can't believe how good it is.

Good advice on keeping the speed down but got frustrated today by a merc doing 5mph in about 1/2 inch of snow and still struggling! Pest!!

I have to echo some of the comments above - only got the HOS this year so yesterday was the first time I've hit snow in it. Work rang to say don't come in (as I arrived in the car park after a half hour drive :evil:

) so went off to play good samaritan. Drove round all day on ice and both loose/compacted snow and never once got stuck or even had a lairy moment. And here's the bit that really impressed me...even with the big slippy hills and deep snowy carparks I never once had to use 4wd!

I put 4 Falken Landair ATs on about a month back and expected them to be cheap/chearful but a bit rubbish on wet roads/snow. Turns out I couldn't be more wrong - the traction is astounding both under acceleration and braking. The difference is worlds apart from my dailly runner...you guessed it - the much hated and malligned Audi saloon on wide lowish profile tyres that simply gives up when there's the merest hint of icing sugar on the road. I try every trick in the book to get that thing moving in bad weather, and still take an age to get anywhere - yet the HOS just drove (albeit much more slowly given the conditions) like there was nothing out of the ordinary going on

Took Martha out in the snow (not much around here, inch at the most) last night to play good samaritan, picked up some grit, went to the bottle bank etc..

nobody in trouble so had a mad 1/2 hour in Homebase / B&Q car parks as they were empty.. then a quick bumble round a few country roads - :mrgreen:

1/4 tank fuel later and feeling dizzy.. great fun!

They were much malined truck's when they came out as Landrover had cornered the market but since people tried them because of the price they find that they do exactley whet they say on the tin and with more comfort!!!

As Ihave previously said this is the first year I have be Fronty-less

We must have about 18 inches of lying snow in places - been snowing heavy here for well over a week now.

I keep looking out the kitchen window at the set of AT tyres next to the shed thinking ...... :twisted:
