frontera A dmf's

Just wondering which frontera A's are fitted with DMF's ? Was going to post this in mechanical, but seeing as its a general question and not a actual problem i am having, i thought it better to post it here, i do hope atleast this was the thing to do :roll:

Looking on my parts looking up, looks like only the 2.5 has a DMF

O.E number; 91155433

LUK number if you want it is; 415017710

are some of the 2.8's fitted with them as well

I dont have a listing for one but that doesnt mean they dont exsist. Just not avaliable aftermarket.

I think all the 2.8 Fronteras were fitted with DMF.
I got the old flywheel of Yaki as he has converted to Trooper solid fly. Just recently found the time to bolt it up. Now looking for someone who can balance it properly before I fit it to the truck :-)

2.8's are indeed fited with DMF's ... I believe there is a mod you can do to utilise the trooper non-DMF system, but don't quote me on the last one. I know my 2.8 Trooper has a normal flywheel so I don't have to worry about that issue.

ALL diesel Frontera models are factory fitted with DMF

Bolting the Dmf is the cheapest and quickest.
Converting to a solid fly means getting rid of the spacer between the box and motor and finding shorter Trooper bolts and then lengthening the rear prop and shortening the front one or getting the right trooper one.
If you bolt it you will need the trooper 3.1 friction plate.
If anyone knows the address of the idiot who invented the DMF let me know as I can easily find some dog pooh to post him.

Did you get yours balanced after bolting? I got quoted £ 140 for balancing mine today :evil:

Not absolutely sure I got every bolt-hole exactly to the same depth. Its okay to about 1/3 of a millimetre, but not sure if I have shifted balance a bit and thus I would like to balance it..
Trying to pull a favour from a friend to get some help - balance for whisky kind of deal.

never did with mine and it all worked a treat.

Yup it would take a lot of something to put a great big lump of metal like that out of balance.
I wouldn't want to be around if one of them came loose at peak revs. :shock:

Right, good point with the total weight. The total weight is almost 30 kgs for the 2.8 dmf, so a fraction of a gram wouldn't make much difference I think :-)
