water wetter

anyone used it ? to be honest id never heard of it but being a 2.2i owner [ they run soooo hot ] im thinking about getting some but is it worth adding it ?

that may well be their description, but the correct concentration of the correct ant-freeze does the same thing....and can last up to 10 years nowadays. Ford recently used the wrong ant-freeze in some engines and the result was noisy (squeaking) water pumps...drain out, flush and add the Correct ant-freeze, with correct additives and the problem was solved.
So save the "miracle cure all" claims, and your money and fit the approved ant-freeze @ the correct concentration.

I used it on a charge cooler (water to air intercooler) system on a turbo car I had. Might have dropped a degree or 2 over standard maybe.

Haven't tried it on the main cooling system ever though sorry.

A fix for hot running engines in the past has been to make a hole in the thermostat to allow water to circulatefreely. In the old days they used to have a "jiggle pin" in them to do this, but more recently these have been deleted to make the motor warm up quicker.
We found a good idea to save engine damage on a Rolls recently, where they had holes in the thermostat, filled with wax...when the engine temp went up the wax melted to allow water to flow freely.

ive drilled a small hole in the opening plate of my stat mate :wink:

down here we cut the centers out of the thurmostats and flush the rads that helps to keep them cool,,,,as it never gets really cold here,,,, :mrgreen:
