How much weight can a LWB carry??

Hi All,

I'm hopefully going to be getting a cast iron bath for our new bathroom and I was debating if the fronty would handle the weight ok? It will just about fit in length ways with the seats flat etc but will I bugger the suspension??

i reckon the suspension will be fine but more chance of damaging the backs of the rear seats

It'll weigh a fair bit. I reckon will need 2 to 3 people to lift it in. Dimensions wise it fits and I was going to carry it upside down so as to spread the weight across the seats etc.

Figure if it will tow the car trailer it should handle the weight though?? Just don't want to get there and it be too heavy.

nah is says in the link max load 600 plus kilos thats over half a ton so if 3/4 people can carry it it cant be anywhere near that.

ive 1500kg in mine, saying that i do need new shocks.
no cast iron bath weighs more than 200kg. Thats only like having a couple of fat blokes in the back.

A while back, I had a collapsable crane in mine that took 4 of us to lift in.
The car handled fine, so your bath will be ok mate.

carred about ton in back off mine tool boxes done well used gear a lot cluck suffered a bit lol

stick a set of mini axels n wheels on it an tow it home :lol:

I've had a ton of gravel on the back of mine. That was with the back seats down, and the weight spread over the axle.

Steering was a little bit light, but otherwise no real problems. You should be fine with a bath.

you could always do the simle thing like opening the bonnet and look on your plate on slam panel
it will give you your axel weight's gross weight & gross trainweight

Just a thought how much weight can your tyres carry??

don't forget to mutiply by 4 as you have 4 wheels to spread the load over

but also remember what each Axel can carry so divide by 2 (axel weight)and go up a few ratings for extra safety

i personally would not go below a rating off 104(900kg)

Dont know what the Whole truck will carry but my LWB Fronty Trailer Had 12 3'x2' paving slabes on it and it did'nt even notice. I did lifting the damn things.... :oh yer:
