HI EVERYONE JUST JOINED LOOKS GOOD BUT I NEED HELP . JUST BOUGHT A 1999 FRONTERA 22.DTI RS SPORT NON RUNNER DIESEL PUMP OFF EBAY 550.00 62K PUMPS NOT THE PROBLEM IVE JUST SPOKE TO THE OWNER WHO IS IN STAFFORDSHIRE IM IN LIVERPOOL IM COLLECTING ON SUNDAY AND WAS GOING TO A FRAME TO TOW WITHOUT STARTING IT DUE TO PUMP DEAD SO I CAN TOW ON A FRAME OR CAN YOU DISSCONNECT THE DIFF TO TOW PLEASE HELP IM UP THE CREEK AT THE MO ANY IDEAS WELCOME THANKS...HARRISHAWKER

Just disconnect the front prop, begs the question, what was it doing in 4wd in the first place unless he was offroad, could have a knackered axle.

how do i dissconnect the prop at front please. the seller said he thinks the rac man pushed the button bit wierd but he has had it for the last 5 years just spent 500 on springs brakes discs allround so it has got to be right what tools will i need to disconnect the prop how long does it take . rac man said about the pump wasnt pushing fuel through is it solineoid or actuall pump if it is pump can get it sorted recon for 400 fitted but id rather it be solineoid he said it has never been offroad hes used it to pull his caravan about .

Not sure with the DTI pump best ask in the dti section :wink:

The prop is just a few nuts to undo think they are about 17mm ish.

Saying that its part time 4wd, as long as the transfer box is disengaged its not in 4wd, although on the B series the hubs are permanently locked unlike the A series..

Oh, could you type in lower case bud, upper case is seen as shouting :wink:

does it have to be running to change from 4 to 2 wheel drive ? wont it change with just the ignition on & push the button ?

sorry mate when ive dis the prop do i have to tie it up or what or can it just hang there are the bolts easy to get to cos ill be on the clock to get back home thank for this advice .

Easy to get at and undo, socket and ring spanner, take it off completely, its only short.

is fogman post is that right you can put ignition on and push button to put into 2wd i been told it works off hydraulic system so if it does it needs thing turning in engine ....... :roll:

Welcome to FOG - with regards to the 4-Wheel Drive - turn the ignition on without starting the Engine and press the Button - if everything operates normally then this should disengage the 4-Wheel Drive i.e. the Light on the Dashboard should go out -just tried it on mine and it works.

Hope this helps - it's also a bit easier than taking the Prop Shaft off.

You could always give the Seller a call and ask him to do this i.e. he could then tell you if it works or you need to look for an alternative option.
