Hi all I am in desperate need of a good mechanic, who can service and may have to do a clutch change, I have just started a new job and don't have the time to do it my self, and my mechanic who we used for the wife jimmy , can not get my truck in his work shop,as its only small All i need doing is a cam belt change and full service, plus mot. My clutch is slipping under load in 1st and 2nd when you go to accelerate, well it just sorts of kangaroos, hits a flat spot i think so new clutch So help would be great Thanks Jay Sorry if i put this in the wrong place, and i have been looking at the threads, but i could not see anything (i think it mite to do with breaking my specs at Bala )

If push comes to shove, I can reccomend Grove Automotive, just on the south side of Bromsgrove.
He's serviced both my Fronteras, Clio and Volvo (including cam belt, MOT, servicing and engine swap), although you'll have to arrange to get the vehicle to and from his workshop.
Worth a phonecall though.

Yes thats it, the mud can get behind the rubber so peel it back and flush it out Remember to fit it back in though. Has your bell housing got an inspection plate on? I believe some 2.2 petrols have them and they can be missing, this is another point where crud can get into the bell housing.

Thanks mate I am slowly giving up on this truck, last owner spent £1400 on part engine rebuild,i have spent in repairs £500,and £1000 modifying it,i have only had it 9 months. I think its time for a TDI 53/54 plate

Modifying is not the same as repairs, keep that in mind, plus the truck is abused and we have to be prepared to fix and maintain them more than your average car. It doesnt matter what 4x4 ytou use if you take it offroad it will cost Think whats gone on it, mostly self inflicted not the trucks fault

I felt the same when the cam belt snapped, I wanted to take a lump hammer to it, but at the end of the day it was my own fault not the cars, I should have had it changed. Its a job I was not confident doing, stripping it down was fine but timing it up worried me and Bernie came to the rescue and talked sense to me and did the timing and stuck it together again. We all have these moments, even Bernie himself admitted hen his fuel pump went he thought of getting rid, we have a beer and a slap around the head and we get back to our normal Frontera madness Your not alone
