First impressions of the Fronty

Only got the Beast last Weds afternoon, so apart from driving it home and over to get some hay from a nearby village, I haven't really had much chance to try it out. However, those short trips have impressed upon me that it's a great vehicle to drive - very light and responsive yet strong and grunty with it. Had a couple of opportunities to try the 4wd out; when we got home with it on day 1 and we still had snow on the drive (hadn't been able to get the car up or the van down the drive for 2 weeks) and it did get a little stuck and slipped around until I flicked it into 4wd and it was away, no probs. Also today, popped round to the neighbours house to show the truck off :wink:

and good job he wasn't in as I backed out of his drive and turned round in the muddy boggy bit at the end - got stuck in 2wd but 4wd was no probs. What is everyone elses like in plain old 2wd in mud and snow? Am really loving it though, want to drive it lots but opted for the restricted mileage option of 5k to get the cheaper insurance :shock:

might have to ammend that!

Mine is under 5k but they have never checked :lol:

Its fun to drive on snow with 2wd, something many LR owners can not do, but be careful as the front likes to overtake the back :lol:

Can only agree with what you've said - drives very nice for such a big vehicle and had no probs in snow - well until I wanted it to go all over, which was good fun :lol:

find a wide open space in the snow and do some 2wd drifting if its safe to do so.......its soooooooooo much fun

4wd does make a helluva difference...2wd can be fun though

Glad you are enjoying your fronty....word of warning though....remember 4wd is ONLY for the slippy stuff, dont try using it on the road or a really grippy surface or you will risk it binding up and breaking something... :shock:

Thanks for the replies. There will be no 2wd drifting in the snow cos hhank heaven it has gone now - has been pretty much white since the middle of December here :shock:

Drift, didn't you have to fill in the mileage form and send it in when you took the policy out?
