2.5tds or 2.8tdi?

hi all.
still lookin for a lwb fronty.
its going to come down to 2.5tds or 2.8tdi.
apart from the 2.8 not havin all the complex elecs etc is there any other things that would make anyone choose one over the other?
and is one better on fuel than the other?

2.5 should be a tad better on fuel and has a bit more Oomph.

2.8 may be more reliable in the long run though and with a few mods, EGR removal, de-cat, fuel pump tweak will prob be about the same as the 2.5.

not being biased but ive got the 2.5 and found it to be
a great motor plenty of umph no probs with engine at all
just passed its mot again no advisories if it wasnt for me rad
giving up the ghost it would have been cheap as chips but in
the end its up to you to decide.

i have the 2.8 swb and 2.5 cherokee (same engine as fronty) and the 2.5 is a quicker than the 2.8 but i prefer the 2.8 just because of the simplicity less gadgets less to go wrong

But its down to personal choice see if you can have a go in each type to finally make your mind
