New owner

Hiya,

Just bought myself a W reg 2.2l DTI limited edition, but its not got the owners manual with it - where might a get one (or a copy of one) from? Also tried to find a Haynes maintenance manual (or similar) for it but not found anything - does such as thing exist?

Its been standing at a garage for at least 6 months so putting through the MOT came up with a few failures I need to sort, but one thing I have found is I cannot move from 2H to 4L - the stick seems stuck. Is there a knack to moving it (in neutral, clutch down or brake pedal on or something)?

Got it to pull my horse trailer as my 307 struggles a bit much...

Might be worth giving your 4x4 lever a go when the gearbox has warmed up after a run, either that or remove the gearstick gaiter and rubber seal underneath and give the transfer box linkages a good old lube up with some wd40....

There is a lockout to prevent accidental engagement,to get from 2H to 4L you need first to push the button with a symbol that looks like two axles on dashboard (to the left of the steering wheel),this will put it into 4H at speeds up to 60mph.2L can then be engaged but the car MUST be stationary,you also MUST be stationary to change back into 4H which you need to do before attempting to disengage 4WD (by repressing the button)

Edit:Remember ony use 4WD on loose/slippery surfaces NOT on tarmac (this will cause axle "wind up" potentially damaging components)

There is no paper manual for this car,check ebay for owners handbook & TIS (dvd based manual)

Thanks for all the detail guys - I think you have got this sorted for me. I need to sort the repairs before I can try out 4wd (cannot legally take car off drive and the 4wd engage button hasn't kicked in with me not moving the car).

I have been looking around on ebay for the manual but there are none for sale currently - i'll keep watching. I guess I'll have to post in the tech forums here until I get one....
