Re: Wooshing Noise???I get that too. Less since I flushed it, but the heater still doesn't get really really hot, even though the pipes going in and out are almost untouchably hot.

Re: Wooshing Noise???Will have to check the carpets me thinks
Re: Wooshing Noise???In my 2.8 the heater is working OK. It gives enough heat at max - at least down to minus 15 degrees outside temp. Any significantly below that and the cabin gets cold. The needle on my temp gauge always comes to rest steadily at the lower quarter mark.
I'm more worried about how little air I get through the vents... Is it normal that I get just barely noticeable draft through the vents when running the fan at max and all air towards the windscreen?...
Re: Wooshing Noise???with the engine running [ try & do this on start up when everythings as cool as possible, tease the supply hose off the matrix pipe so it is just about on the pipe then gently tease the hose off a little bit more so the top edge is just clear of the matrix pipe allowing any air can escape which you can clearly see & hear, when the bubbles stop coming out & the coolant flows instead replace hose back on & clip up again, then do the same with the return hose, place a small bucket under both pipes/ hoses so you can catch any lost coolant & with a bit luck any air should now of been cleared

Re: Wooshing Noise???Thanks, I'll have a go at sorting out the ducting. The fan runs allright, but there is very little air coming ut through the vents. Very strange, I have never had a car with that little blower capacity. But I know the previous owner had the dashboard out once, so there might be some pieces misplaced in there.... I see that there are screws and nuts missing some places and that is usually not a sign of good workmanship...
Re: Wooshing Noise???He probably hasnt refitted some of the ducts back in place mate. Seen it myself before.
I hope its that easy for your sake. Regards, Keith.

Re: Wooshing Noise???On a side note. There is an article in TIS relating to poor heating in the 92' to 96' model Frontera. It states that in case of customer complaint a revised/redesigned heater matrix is to be installed.
Il bet that 99% of Frontera's never had the matrix replaced as people just thought that was how it was 'meant to be'. Last edited by Sir-Doris on Wed Feb 17, 2010 12:47 am, edited 1 time in total.
