Maxxis mudders for me. Just done 60 miles for 4x4 response and was in 4wd all the time. Took the swb specialy because it has the mudders on and felt so much safer than when driving with ATs. If just sloppy slush then ATs are ok. As for digging in, thats fine when you want to find the road beneath. Try them both in deep snow and go with what feels safest to you.
On my old Sport the AT's coped better in the snow than my MT's do now and they where just remould Colway AT's . They gripped the snow great where as recently my MT's dug down through the snow but didnt gain any traction no matter what I did. AT
