make Gaskets

Hi guys,
Ever thought of all the beer you drink and throw the can away????????..
DON`T>>>>> cut the Aluminum down the sides>> it makes Brilliant gaskets:

Seen them made from grease proof cardboard and old corn flake boxes.

Used to do this all the time for CR wheel hub gaskets , remove hub , clean the face of the hub , place job card over and hammer around outer and internal edge and hey presto new gasket and the jobs a good un :drink:

Brown sugar bags, and the cardboard covers off the Yellow Pages

The gaskets on the turbo oil return pipe on my 2.8 are made from a cereal box, possibly Cornflakes :wink:

Couldn't get one from VX for a few days so made them, been on there a year now :dance:

This is bringing back memorys, tin cans can also double up as exhaust repair patches, lets start a thread to see how many items we can temporary repair stuff with ,and it has to be food item packaging

I used a milk bottle lid to cap off the end of the air intake reserve chamber.

I had a mark 3 escort 1.6 cvh with a worn fuel pump it was a metal rod the worked of the cam or summit anyway it was worn down and i used a new 5 pence piece as a spacer i done alot of miles in that car with that 5 pence in there.

Oh food i used a flattend tin can to patch a hole in the boot under fuel tank of a mark two escort i once owned
